Sneaky, sneaky China...

What are they up to anyway? Obviously world domination. I'm amazed at the patience of non-westerners in carrying out their long-term goals. So, you ask, what is she babbling on and on about? Check out this news story: China Supports Russian Plan to Enrich Uranium for Iran's Nuclear Program.

I've believed for a number of year's now that China clearly has a grand plan. I have to admit it's brilliant. See, rather than do what Russia did (i.e. democratize govenment and THEN try to instill a capital economy. Obviously THAT didn't work out all that well...), China went the other way: they are building a capitalist economy and maintaining the pseudo-communist political system. (I know one could argue they are more socialist than communist, but I'm just not competent enough to argue that!).

My point is that China is clearly playing a smart, long-term game. Russia is weighing their options and moving towards the side they see as the ultimate winner. They are buddying up to China like crazy! And the US, as usual, can't see past the end of their nose. China essentially has the US by the short and curlies economically, they own such a huge amount of the debt the US issued to pay for their stupid wars and tax cuts. All China needs to do is say to the US, "If you don't play by our rules, we start selling..." and the US can do nothing but cave unless they really want wordwide economic upheaval, and I'm sure they don't.

Anyway, it's fun to watch. Keep an eye out in the future for little nuggets such as this one and you'll begin to see the chess board forming up for top dog as easily as I do!

Thanks for your note on my blog and for the 'just for me' action you took! Although we probably don't have many shared opinions, I still enjoy reading what you write. All the best.

A post that explains in pictures why we must fight the conservatives here and help our american friends get their country back. All connies should be strapped to a chair, eyelids glued open and forced to look at this (as one poster on above diary suggested).

Ever anxious not to have my "eyelids glued open", I went voluntarily to website recommended by anonymous, but the link seemed to be dead.

Cool blog. I like the thought that China adopted capitalism the smart way, none of that bullshit free-wheelin' open-market crap. Every colony America ever created failed for the same reason. (Hawaii and Alaska don't count). America's sphere of influence is a total failure. Look at Mexico or Haiti. What has the free market done for them?

But, I'm not sure about the whole world domination thing. Don't get me wrong, its pretty obvious that China will rule the world, and probably already do; it just seems that China's world domination seems more of a byproduct of national survival than a master plan.

To consider yourself an empire, you have to be willing to send the troops in to control that empire. Yes, wealth is uber-important, and buying out your enemies is a great way to go, but is China willing to send their army half way around the world to secure a natural resource?

Would they go outside their natural "sphere of influence" and fire bomb the locals into submission if they put up a stink?

China has flirted with global empire status before. In the 15th and 16th century, the centre of the world wasn't Europe. Chinese explorers rounded Africa and took a sniff of the Atlantic (some say perhaps made it to South America, but probably not). They thought about colonization, expansion, all the wealth of an untapped world and shrugged their shoulders. The emperor called the explorers home and they gave the world to the West.

I suppose we'll find out soon enough. Canada's pretty ripe. If the yellow stars are flying over the Saddledome in 20 years, I'll stand corrected.

Why is it the government of Canada gives $50 million a year in aid to an economic powerhouse with a terrible human rights record and a very large military? Is it because of the Liberal party big wigs have business ties to China?
Anyone see an extra kidney laying around here? You might have to google 'china falung gong and organ transplant', to understand that last line.
